The purpose of this study was to establish the association between focus strategy and performance of the radio broadcasting firms in Kisumu County. The study employed a correlational research design. The findings were that the association between focus strategy and performance were positive and significant, that is, (r = 0.555, p = 0.001, n= 30) meaning that focus strategy positively associates with performance. The study concludes that use of focus strategies associates with performance positively. Recommendations of the study are that management of radio broadcasting firms should continue using focus strategies and intensify application of focus strategies. The results of this study will be important to the Radio Broadcasting Firms by helping them to adopt marketing strategies that would enhance their performance. To the industry policy makers, the study will help in identify the appropriate marketing strategies for survival in the competitive business world.

Employee engagement (EE) in a new environment of inequitable reward system, multiple reporting to political and administrative offices requires investigation. The County revenue absorption rate is still below 50%, and revenue collection is below 25% in western counties compared to the national average of 47 percent, indicative of low operational performance. The study investigated the effect of employee engagement on the operational performance of the county governments of western Kenya. The study was anchored on Human Capital and Social Exchange theories. Correlation research design was used for the study in selected counties in the western Kenya region. The target population was 170 sectional heads of devolved county departments. Census sampling was undertaken and data collected using questionnaire, interviews, observations and document analysis. For construct validity, factor loadings of more than 0.3, and content validity approval by experts’ opinion were realized.  Cronbachs’ alpha coefficients were between 0.841 and 0.862, above the threshold value of 0.7 for reliability. Standard multiple regression models used established that Employee Engagement had a significant effect on COP (β=.714, p=.000) and accounted for 54.4% change in COP. The study concluded that EE had an effect on COP. The study recommended an enhancement of Employee Engagement by realigning administrative systems and rewards. The findings may be utilized to enhance strategic human resource procurement policy and legislation framework for establishment of strategic human capital to enhance operational performance.

Literature in Western Counties reveals absence of strategic human resource policy, lack of institutional framework and weak legislations to guide the process effectively. Consequently unstructured employee procurement resulted to overstaffing and unascertained quality of human capital. The study was anchored on Human Capital and Social Exchange theories. Correlation research design was used for the study in selected counties in the western Kenya region. The target population was 170 sectional heads of devolved county departments. Census sampling was undertaken and data collected using questionnaire, interviews, observations and document analysis. For construct validity, factor loadings of more than 0.3, and content validity approval by experts’ opinion were realized. Cronbachs’ alpha coefficients were between 0.841 and 0.862, above the threshold value of 0.7 for reliability. Mixed approach methodology was used to facilitate the discussions. Hierarchical multiple regression model revealed that EE positively moderated the relationship between EPI and COP by accounting for extra 0.9% after introduction of the interaction term. The study concluded that EE moderated the relationship between EPI and COP. The study recommended a review of EPI on proper scientific process that guarantee acquisition of strategic human capital and enhance EE by realigning administrative systems and rewards. The study theories were held. The findings may be utilized to enhance strategic human resource procurement policy and legislation framework for establishment of strategic human capital to enhance operational performance.

With the attrition rate rising in the economy, the employers are adapting employee retention strategies which not only help to retain their best talent but also make the employees happy at workplace leading to more effective and efficient working. The present study tries to identify the reasons of attrition i.e. to know the reasons from employees to leave an organisation and to explore the retention practices being implemented by employers in today’s scenario so as to retain their talented and most demanded people in terms of skills. A qualitative research approach was adopted wherein the researcher designed the questions for semi-structured interviews (telephonic/face-to-face) were held.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is chronologically playing important role in our personal lives and also private and government organizations including the educational sector to reshape their activities. Govt. of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh is going to establish Digital Bangladesh. But it is concerned that there are some absence of implementation of e-Governance at every institute especially at all educational and training institute like NAEM who provides training to all types of secondary and higher secondary level institutes. It is suggested that the teachers must be equipped themselves with the modern ICT based tools and techniques of teaching. The aim of this research study was to review the present ICT based facilities in NAEM campus and training classes, to study the online training management system for effective training and to study e-service delivery system facilities. This research study also tried to find the existing laps and gaps of e-Governance issues in NAEM for the formulation of an effective training strategy. Descriptive case study and questioner method were adopted to conduct the research study. Majorly this was a case study hence data have been collected visiting NAEM campus from observation, primary and secondary sources. Findings majorly shown, 61% trainees were not happy with internet download speed in lab. In campus, 94% trainees were not happy with Wi-Fi speed. This research study recommended 24 suggestions to improve e-governance in NAEM campus on the basis of findings. By proper implementation of these findings and respected recommendations NAEM can be benefited to improve the training activities of NAEM campus and can be champion at e-Governance implementation. 

In financial investment decisions to be made by individual investors, it is highly important that they should be aware of the possibility of facing with behavioural biases. Standard finance theory states that individual investors are perfectly rational and wealth maximizers in their financial decisions. However the idea of fully rational investors who have perfect control on their decisions to maximize their utility is becoming less popular due to various psychological and emotional errors such as overconfidence bias which affects the ability of an investor to make a rational decision. This study explored the relationship between demographics and overconfidence bias among individual investor who are dealing in stock market. By using questionnaire survey method conducted 150 valid convenient samples collected to examine the presence of overconfidence bias and to find out the variation of level of overconfidence bias among the individual investors. Based on literature review, hypothesized models are constructed and further used to evaluate the effects of demographic variables on overconfidence bias through one way ANNOVA. The results showed shows that the overconfidence bias is significantly same for all characteristics except age of the investors. It indicates that overconfidence bias vary significantly only with respect to age. There is no significant variation in level of overconfidence bias with regard to Gender, Education, Occupation and Income.

This paper reports a study on the influence of promotional strategies on performance of National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Limited. Specifically, the study sought to establish the nature of the relationship between the bank’s promotional strategies and its performance. A descriptive research design employing a simple random sampling technique selected 40(88%) bankbranches whose managers were contacted using questionnaires. One key informant the Marketing manager, was purposively selected from the bank’s head office due to her knowledge base on the subject matter. The data collected were analyzed using Microsoft Excel package and the SPSS software. Correlation analysis was conducted to establish the nature of the relationship between the bank’s promotional strategies and it performance while regression analysis used to explainits performance. The studyfound a positive relationshipbetween promotional strategies expenditure and bank performance.  Spending on promotional mixes individually had little effect onbank performance. However, when spending on all promotional strategies is aggregated bank performance increased significantly. Study recommends integrated spending on promotional mixes proportionally and not just on a few selected elements. 

Customers all over the world now prefer branded products. This study is aimed at analysing the effect of brand on consumer buying behaviour. Along with finding the effect of brand on consumer buying behaviour the purpose of the study is to have an in depth knowledge of what actually is branding and consumer behaviour. To study the relationship between brand and consumer behaviour the following methodology is opted: Consumer Survey on the effect of brands on their buying behaviour through questionnaire. The key results of the study are: The degree brand of consciousness goes on decreasing in higher age groups; price & brand were the major attributes that customer’s gave most importance and 80% people believe that Brands in fashion industry have become a status symbol.
